Key Purpose of the Job
Participation in the FastTrack Truck Sales Trainee program to completion to achieve the C-Sales Mercedes-Benz Certification.
Attending the Mercedes-Benz cohort training program both face2face at Wentworth Park and online training, in conjunction with participating in the ICTV development structured training program.
To complete Identifying and prospecting new business and looking after existing customers, responsible for selling new & used vehicles.
Establishing and fostering contacts and relationships with departments which support Sales.
Holding sales presentations and providing customers with information and advice on Mercedes-Benz trucks for new and used vehicles, equipment, finance & R&M.
Achieving set sales targets
Managing orders through to handover, ensuring all paperwork completed correctly for the sale of the vehicle.
Carrying out follow-up contacts to customer and prospects; processing and managing a customer file.
Maintain and control customer database.
Aligning department with M-BUK aims and objectives.
Supporting the company management in planning issues relevant to sales, in particular with regard to volume planning and profitability
Defining market goals for new & used vehicle sales, co-coordinating these with performance targets stipulated by Mercedes-Benz UK and drawing up a business plan.
Developing concepts to increase sales, turnover and profitability and reaching agreement on these with the company management.
Observing market price developments of competitors in the new and used vehicles business.
Carrying out analyses of the competition/benchmarking
Planning and managing/involvement in media advertising, direct marketing and customer loyalty activities
Attend all training (In house & MBTUK) to ensure up to date on product, systems and processes.
Ensuring the range of Mercedes-Benz additional services (leasing, financing, service contracts, etc.) are available.
Monitoring vehicle orders and deliveries
Ensuring Mercedes-Benz sales standards are met.
Monitoring the development of incoming orders and deliveries to customers
Ensuring processes are defined and upheld and optimising processes in Sales unit after prior agreement with company management.
Putting forward suggestions and implementing measures to increase customer satisfaction.
Ensuring customer wishes are dealt with and followed up.
Ensuring customers are looked after post-sale.
Evaluating incoming complaints and arranging for measures to improve the situation/follow-ups to be carried out.
Monitoring reports in the media on the Mercedes-Benz brand and on competitors’ products
Knowledge, Skills & Experience required for the job
The FastTrack Truck Sales Trainee must be comfortable working as an individual as well as working as part of a team. They must be willing to learn and be focused on attaining the C-Sales certification through attending the MB FastTrack Truck training program courses as well as attending the structured sessions within the dealership.
They must have a passion for sales and customer satisfaction and be a great communicator.
Upon completion of the C-Sales Certification, the trainee will qualify as a Mercedes-Benz Truck Sales Executive who then continues to strive to have an extensive knowledge of business administration as well as basic knowledge of tax, finance and contract law and the legal forms of doing business. They can plan sales promotion measures and implement these effectively and efficiently. They are aware of their competitors’ organisation and activities, as well as current trends within his branch of industry.
