We are currently looking to recruit a Depot Manager to operate from our brand new site – Dunstable.
Key Purpose of the Job
To be the senior point of contact, managing and developing a professional and profitable workshop/depot. This includes, maximising efficiency and profitability of the Depot, planning, controlling and monitoring processes in all areas
Ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction, achieving high review scores and resolving issues swiftly
Achieving or exceeding budget objectives
Managing and developing employees
Ensuring all Mercedes-Benz UK and ICTV audit standards are met and legal regulations on labour, H&S, quality and environmental protection complied with
To positively represent the company and the Brand as a whole both internally and externally.

Accountabilities
Lead and motivate the depot team, taking steps to create a professional and customer focussed environment.
Define budget plan with company management and ensure that the depot achieves profit margins within their objectives and agreed annual budget.
Ensure all cash vehicles are paid for and account vehicle work is authorised before vehicles are released
Ensure work is not competed where accounts are on stop or where work exceeds agreed limit (currently £2,000)
Complete and reconcile cash and card banking daily
Adhere to pre-authorised and agreed prices for workshop services
Fully accountable for managing and updating EWIP, taking corrective measures and actions in a timely manner, in conjunction with Kerridge WIP
Manage AX Manager and ensure all costs are recharged where applicable, and log ALL vehicle usage
Rectify and resolve EPQ within 1 working day of accounts listing
Verify all external invoices within agreed SLA (currently 4 working days)
Ensure Truckfile sign-off within 1 working day to meet compliance requirements
Manage S24hr technicians in accordance with agreed service agreements
Ensure job time planning and task allocation for workshop is carried out correctly and pre-determined job times are adhered to.
Ensure amendments/additional info gathered at 3 day pre-calls, re-books and customer walk in appointments are handled professionally at depot level and relevant systems updated
Recruit, manage and develop staff, ensuring optimum productivity and performance.
Ensure company HR policies are applied correctly, fairly and consistently and that conduct/performance issues are dealt with without undue delay.
Plan and manage staff holidays and absence, to ensure operational hours are fully covered and minimize disruption to the business
Plan and control customer surveys and other measures for monitoring customer satisfaction (5 Star rater/C Star).
Respond to surveys within 24 hours and follow up any problems identified within 48 hours
Resolve manufacturer generated complaints and concerns promptly and effectively
Work with dissatisfied customers and those with difficult complaints to resolve issues swiftly and to the benefit of all parties.
Responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety on site, ensuring appropriate use of PPE at all times
Ensuring all required technical test equipment and tools are available and ready for use
Ensure depot facility is maintained to a high standard and repairs are initiated in a timely manner
Ensuring quality control of all completed tasks
Set a professional example at all times when dealing with customers and colleagues
Respond promptly and efficiently to all managerial requests
Complete admin tasks and management reporting to a high standard within agreed timeframes
Experience
A Depot Manager has extensive knowledge of business administration, has experience of workshops and knows methods of quality assurance, and compliance
A Depot Manager can create a good working atmosphere, enthuses and motivates their team. They also recognise their own personal development needs, allow others to express an opinion and feedback, and take constructive criticism seriously. They are able to reach target agreements with employees and to monitor the level of target achievement
They are very good at dealing with conflict and defend their own position accurately and objectively
